Privacy Policy
1. Who we are
SuperParent ("we", "us") operates the SuperParent mobile application — a parenting app for families in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq that combines a children's product shop, parenting education, community features, and child development tracking. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
For any privacy question or request, contact us at support@superparent.krd.
2. Data we collect
| Category | Examples | When |
|---|---|---|
| Account data | Full name, email address, phone number, password (stored only as a secure hash), optional profile photo | When you create an account |
| Children's profiles | Child's name, date of birth, gender, optional photos, milestone and growth records | When you add a child profile (optional) |
| Photos & videos | Milestone photos, product review photos, Quick Tips videos you record, community post images | Only when you choose to upload them |
| Order & delivery data | Delivery address, city, phone number, order contents and totals, order history | When you place a shop order |
| Location | Approximate or precise device location | Only if you grant permission, and only for the store locator and delivery address features |
| Usage data | Screens visited, features used, in-app search queries, content interactions, session timestamps | Automatically while you use the app |
| Device data | Device model, operating system version, app version, language preference, push notification token | Automatically |
Camera and microphone are used only when you start an action that needs them (recording a Quick Tip, taking a milestone photo, or joining an expert video consultation). We never access them in the background.
3. Children's information
SuperParent is designed for parents and caregivers aged 18 or over — children do not use the app themselves. Any information about children (names, dates of birth, photos, milestones) is entered voluntarily by the parent to power features such as age-appropriate content, growth tracking, and reminders.
- Children's profile data is visible only to the account that created it. It is never shown to other users and never used for advertising.
- You can edit or delete a child's profile at any time in the app, and all child data is removed when your account is deleted (see Account & data deletion).
4. How we use your data
- To provide the service — accounts, orders and delivery, consultations, learning progress, community features, milestone tracking, and search.
- To personalize content — for example, suggesting articles relevant to your child's age group. Personalization uses in-app activity only.
- To send notifications — order updates, reminders you set, community replies, and (only if enabled in Settings) promotional messages.
- To keep the community safe — automated and human moderation of user-generated content.
- To improve the app — aggregated usage analytics for understanding which features help parents most.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not show third-party advertising.
5. Payments — cash on delivery
All shop orders are paid in cash when your order is delivered. Expert consultations are free bookings. SuperParent has no online payment gateway and never collects card numbers, wallet credentials, or any other payment instrument data. We store only your order contents, totals, and delivery status for your order history.
6. Who we share data with
We share data only with the service providers required to run SuperParent, and only the minimum each one needs:
| Provider | Purpose | Data involved |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Secure backend hosting — authentication, database, and file storage | All app data, encrypted in transit |
| EaglePost | Delivery of shop orders | Recipient name, phone number, delivery address, order reference |
| Amazon Web Services (Rekognition) | Automated safety screening of Quick Tips videos before publication | The uploaded video |
| Expo / Firebase Cloud Messaging | Delivering push notifications | Push token, notification content |
| Agora | Real-time video for expert consultations (when available) | Audio/video streams during a call; calls are not recorded |
We may also disclose data if required by applicable law or to protect the safety of our users.
7. Community content & moderation
Content you post to the Community or Quick Tips is visible to other SuperParent users together with your display name and profile photo. Quick Tips videos pass automated moderation before publication, and community posts are subject to review. Other users can report content, and our moderators may remove content or suspend accounts that violate our Terms of Service. Please don't include personal details you wouldn't want public — and take care when sharing photos that include your children.
8. Notifications
We use push notifications for order updates, reminders you create, community activity, and optional promotions. You can switch each notification category on or off in Settings → Notifications, or disable notifications entirely in your device settings.
9. Data retention
- Account, children, and content data are kept while your account is active.
- When you request deletion, your account enters a 30-day grace period, after which your personal data is permanently deleted or irreversibly anonymized by an automated process.
- Records we must keep for legitimate business purposes (for example, completed order and return records) are retained in anonymized form, no longer linked to you.
10. Account & data deletion
Delete in the app: open Profile → Settings → Delete Account and confirm. Your account is scheduled for permanent deletion after a 30-day grace period; signing back in during that period cancels the request.
Can't access the app? Email support@superparent.krd from the address on your account with the subject "Delete my account", and we will process the deletion for you.
Deletion removes your profile, children's profiles, photos and videos, posts, learning progress, rewards, and notification tokens. Completed order records are anonymized as described in Data retention.
11. Security
All data is encrypted in transit (TLS). Data at rest is protected by per-user access rules enforced at the database level, so each account can only read the data it is entitled to. Passwords are stored as salted hashes and are never visible to us. Access to production systems is restricted to authorized personnel.
12. Your rights & choices
- Access & correction — view and edit your profile, children, addresses, and preferences in the app.
- Deletion — delete your account in the app or by email (section 10).
- Data export — request a copy of your data by emailing support@superparent.krd.
- Permissions — camera, microphone, photos, and location permissions can be revoked at any time in your device settings; related features simply stop working.
- Marketing — promotional notifications are off unless you enable them, and can be disabled again in Settings.
13. Who may use SuperParent
SuperParent is intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly create accounts for anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be announced in the app before they take effect, and the "Effective date" above will always reflect the current version.
